Descriptive Text


Samalona Island
Samalona Island is one of very beautiful island in Makassar in South Sulawesi province. It is an amazing tourist place to visit. The location of Samalona Island is not really difficult to be reached. It is about 7 km from city of Makassar by boat, the price of boat costs from Rp.300.000 - Rp.600.000, round trip for 10 people, it does not take so much money. Then it takes only about half an hour.
Along the way, we can enjoy the sprawling expanse of blue sea and also we can see the fishing boats that were fishing.
The Samalona Island is also white sand beach, the people will amaze with the natural scenery, blue water of the sea and then beautiful of marine life. The Island is around 2.34 hectares and also surrounded by some trees.
 And then the beautiful of the life under the sea is not too different. The scenery under the sea is also great and amazing, there are so many kinds of flora and fauna that people can see when they dive. Besides, there is an old ship, Lancaster Bomber, under the sea that people can see. The ship is used in colonial era.
Unfortunately, the Island shrinks time by time. And the people predict that the island will disappear in 2020 cause of the rising of sea water.
